Wildare Church Tenets of Faith

Wildare Church Tenets of Faith
1. Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, and the revelation of Truth from God to mankind.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

1 Peter 1:22-25
Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is through the living and abiding word of God. For all flesh is like the grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the Word of the Lord abides forever. And this is the word which is preached to you.

2. God
We believe in the one true, holy and living God, Eternal Spirit, who is Creator, Sovereign and Preserver of all things. He is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love, and rule with gracious regard for the well-being and salvation of men, to the glory of His name. We believe the one God reveals himself as the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 8:6
Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and exist through Him.

Isaiah 43:10-11
You are My witnesses, declares the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. I, even I, am the Lord; And there is no Savior besides Me.

1 Peter 1:2
According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in fullest measure.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Colossians 1:16,17
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created by Him and for Him.
3. Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. He is the eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us , and by him all men will be judged.

Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be call the Son of God.

Matthew 1:23
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which translated means, God with us.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.

John 10:30 I and the Father are one.

1 Peter 2:22, Ephesians 1:7

4. Holy Spirit
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. He convicts man of sin, bears witness of the truth, is the agent of the new birth, and indwells every true child of God. The Spirit provides wisdom, power , and strength to help a Christian live a godly life, edify the body of Christ, evangelize and make disciples throughout the world.

John 14:16-17
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you and He when He come, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment.

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.
Genesis 1:2
And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.

Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Galatians 5:16; Romans 8:26-27; John 3:5; John 16:13; Romans 8:9; Romans 8:16; Matthew 3:11

5. The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again;
He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

6. Grace of God
Grace is the manifestation of God’s love freely given to all persons. Through this undeserved gift, God’s Grace works throughout our lives to draw us to God, lead us to repentance and salvation, live as children of God, with the goal of a life of holiness and having the hope of eternal life.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.

Titus 3:5-7
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

7. Salvation
The gift of grace is available to all persons. Our Father in Heaven is not willing that any should be lost (Matthew 18:14), but that all may come to “the knowledge of truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).

God love you and wants you to have eternal life:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

8. The Church
We believe the Christian Church is the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Christ. It is the redemptive fellowship in which the Word of God is preached. Under the discipline of the Holy Spirit the Church exists for the maintenance of worship, edification of believers and the redemption of the world.

Ephesians 4:12
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

9. Baptism
We believe Baptism signifies entrance into the household of faith, and the symbol of repentance and inner cleansing from sin, a representation of the new birth in Christ Jesus and a mark of Christian discipleship.

10. Communion
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a representation of our redemption, a memorial of the sufferings and death of Christ, and a token of love and union which Christians have with Christ and with one another. Thos who rightly, worthily, and faith eat the broken bread and drink the blessed cup partake of the body and blood of Christ in a spiritual manner until He comes again.

11. Marriage
We believe the Bible clearly teaches that God created mankind as male or female and a Biblical marriage is the union of one man and one woman.

12. Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and those that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.

John 5:29
Those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.
Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15
